How do I become a member?
At the beginning of each semester, occupational therapy students are invited to join SOTA. They are required to be students accepted and enrolled either full-time or part-time in the occupational therapy program at UTEP. Members are required to participate in various activities throughout the semester and must pay dues.

How Much are dues?
SOTA members are required to pay $5 for dues for the academic year.

When are the meetings scheduled?
SOTA meetings are usually held every two months or as needed. The meetings are held when both seniors and juniors have a break in their class schedule.

What is occupational therapy?
Sometimes it is hard to define occupational therapy to people outside of the occupational therapy profession. Here is a helpful definition as stated by the American Occupational Therapy Association:

"Occupational therapy is a health and rehbilitation profession that helps individuals achieve independence in their lives despite disabilities. Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants work with people of all ages who because of physical, developmental, social, or emotional problems need spacialized assistance to lead productive and satisfying lives"
